Miss Amanda – Social Worker
My name is Amanda Regis and I am one of the social workers at Oak Hill School. My primary role is to provide individual and group counseling to the younger students in the school (K-5th). Within counseling, I provide your child an opportunity to explore their emotions, triggers, and develop new and appropriate coping skills.
Zones of Regulation
This is a school wide social-emotional curriculum that teaches children how to identify their emotions, triggers, and practice new coping skills. This curriculum is beneficial to all students regardless of their mental health diagnosis. This is taught once a week as a group in each classroom. If you would like more information about this curriculum and how to adapt the strategies and teachings used to support you child at home, please feel free to email me.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Throughout the school and in counseling, we utilize a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach. This approach focused on the cognition’s/thoughts a child has, which includes their perception of a situation, and how it is related to their behaviors. Once the thoughts are changed, the behaviors often follow.
I am excited to work with you and your child and facilitate the help needed to reach your goals!
