Oak Hill School, located in Scotia, NY, is an approved 853 school designated by the New York State Education Department. Since 1970, Oak Hill School has been providing a fresh start for children whose emotional/behavioral challenges which keep them from being successful in a traditional school setting. Our highly committed staff delivers a non-traditional program that utilizes a variety of resources including, but not limited to: nature and the outdoors, hiking, cooking, gardening, physical education activities and the arts to build self-esteem and learning in the core curriculum areas.

Although we are a designated 853 school, we are also a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that requires additional funding to support innovative and non-traditional programs and initiatives that make our program unique. As the need continues to increase for this specialized educational format, we have received approval from the New York State Education Department to increase enrollment by 12 additional students. This now requires Oak Hill School to build a 3,000 square foot expansion which will include classrooms, therapeutic areas and counseling rooms.  The approximate cost of this endeavor is $500,000 and we are looking for your support to make this a reality.
