Executive Director Message

Dear Oak Hill Students, Families, Staff, and Community Members,

I am honored and excited to join Oak Hill School as  Executive Director. As I prepare to begin this role in July, I want to take a moment to introduce myself and share my enthusiasm for joining this exceptional school community.

First, I would like to recognize Dave Mitchell for his outstanding leadership over the past 14 years. Dave has done a remarkable job creating a positive school culture supported by a dedicated and caring staff. The strong foundation he has built is evident in every aspect

of Oak Hill’s success. I am grateful that Dave will remain on staff. I am confident that his experience, along with the support of Assistant Director Robb Kopp, will be invaluable as I transition into this new role.

I come to Oak Hill after more than 30 years in public education, including 15 years as a special education teacher and 16 years as an administrator. Throughout my career, I have been passionate about supporting students, empowering staff, and creating educational environments where every child can experience success.

Oak Hill has earned a reputation as one of the premier special education schools in the region and throughout New York State. I am excited to build upon the many strengths that the school’s staff, leadership team, and Board of Directors have worked so hard to establish and maintain.

As Executive Director, I remain committed to Oak Hill’s mission of providing a quality, individualized education for students with emotional challenges. We will continue to foster a safe, supportive, and stimulating learning environment that promotes academic growth while prioritizing the positive well-being of every student we serve.

I look forward to meeting our students and families, working alongside our talented staff, and partnering with our community as we continue to provide exceptional opportunities and support for the young people entrusted to our care.
