Hello!

My primary role is to provide individual and group counseling to students in 4th-8th grade. I strive to build a strong, trustworthy therapeutic rapport with each one of my students! I understand that everyone learns differently and I make sure I address all learning styles when teaching coping and social skills. At Oak Hill we utilize a social emotional curriculum called, Zone of Regulation. In session we primary use the Evidence Based Practice, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Zones of Regulation

This is a school wide social-emotional curriculum that teaches children how to identify their emotions, triggers, and practice new coping skills. This curriculum is beneficial to all students regardless of their mental health diagnosis. This is taught once a week as a group in each classroom. If you would like more information about this curriculum and how to adapt the strategies and teachings used to support you child at home, please feel free to email me.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Throughout the school and in counseling, we utilize a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach. This approach focused on the cognition’s/thoughts a child has, which includes their perception of a situation, and how it is related to their behaviors. Once the thoughts are changed, the behaviors often follow.

I look forward to working with you!  🙂
